While Foreclosures seemed to be decreasing when we posted our last Whittier Foreclosure Snapshot on 07/12/2010, &lt;strong&gt;the number of active Bank Owned Property listings has actually gone up slightly since.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Today, 08/02/10, there are a &lt;strong&gt;total of 47 Bank Owned Properties listed for sale in Whittier (11%).&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With regards to &lt;strong&gt;Single Family Homes, 10% of active Whittier home listings are Foreclosures&lt;/strong&gt; (up 3% from 07/12/10). The &lt;strong&gt;highest&amp;nbsp;percentage of Bank Owned Homes can be found in the price range between $0 to $200,000 (with 43%),&lt;/strong&gt; however, those 43% are actually only 3 homes. The &lt;strong&gt;largest number of Whittier Foreclosures is in the price range between $200,000 and $300,000 (18 homes).&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When it comes to Condos, &lt;strong&gt;15% of all active Whittier Condos are Bank Owned Properties&lt;/strong&gt; (8 Condos), with the&lt;strong&gt; largest amount of Foreclosures in the price range between $200,000 and $300,000&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As promised, besides sharing valuable Real Estate information, we would also like to share &lt;strong&gt;fun things to do in the area&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;places to go&lt;/strong&gt; and&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;wonderful things to see&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;One of those wonderful things to see is Malibu Creek State Park&lt;/strong&gt; - a great area for hiking and picnicking. There are two beautiful lakes to spend the day. The first one is &quot;&lt;strong&gt;Rock Pool&lt;/strong&gt;&quot;, a great natural lake where you can swim and dive off the interesting volcanic rocks in an impressive gorge. &quot;Rock Pool&quot; is the shorter trail, approximately 3.5 miles round trip and very easy to hike as it is mostly along the riverbed and pretty much completely flat. On your way to Rock Pool, stop by the little &lt;strong&gt;Visitors' Center&lt;/strong&gt; and look at some exhibits of local wildlife (you can also purchase some cold drinks there).&lt;/p&gt;

As it is a bit more of a hike, there are not as many people, so if you are looking for a more quiet and serene location, this is definitely the one.&lt;/p&gt;
